Loma Prieta Annual BBQ is Today

Join us today starting at 11:00am across the street from Loma Prieta Elementary School located at 23800 Summit Road, Los Gatos, CA. This action packed day is family fun and a great chance to say hello to all of your mountain neighbors. It’s an annual tradition that provides much needed funds for the local Loma Prieta Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

Come on over and enjoy a delicious lunch of BBQ rib eye steak, marinated chicken, garlic bread, beans, and salad. An assortments of drinks and and home baked desserts are also available.

Bring your kids and let them enjoy the various games just for kids. A highlight of the day is the extrication demonstration where you can watch as a vehicle is opened up to facilitate the rescue of a crash victim. At some point during the day you will hear the sound of a helicopter as the Calstar Air ambulance will fly in and demonstrate its abilities. While it is on the ground, you can check it out and talk to the operators.

In previous years, Smokey the Bear has made a visit and was a big hit with the kids.

The highlight of the day is the raffle. Every year there is a trip to an exotic location. Past trips have included Belize and Hawaii. This year’s grand prize is a trip for two to Maui for a week (or a family of four to Disneyland for 3 days and 2 nights). Local artists always donate and other business donate raffle prizes as well.
